Koreshan Historic State Park | Gentry Thomas & His Kids

One of my previous clients called me last week to do some new promo stuff and take some family photos of him and his kids – oh my God they are so adorable!!

We had a blast talking ghost stories and picking the houses to take photos by at Koreshan Historic State Park in Estero, Florida.

Check out the really cute photos!

Aren’t they all so sweet together?

I had such a great time at the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens’ Wedding Photo Shootout. Talk about a wedding photographer’s dream!! 3 hours with two couples with exotic and beautiful scenery, beautiful outdoor light, a monkey in the background and lots of AMAZING wedding vendors and a ton of awesome wedding photographers all coming together to make gorgeous photos.

I. WAS. IN. FREAKING. HEAVEN.

Koreshan Historic State Park | Jason & Mishelle

Talk about a last minute on the fly photo shoot! Jason called Kerry asking if it was at all possible to fit him and his girlfriend, Mishelle, into our schedule to take photos as a gift for Mishelle’s grandma’s 90th birthday this Saturday. How can I say no to grandma? But what a week this week has been (and is still going!). I told Jason it was going to be tight because we have been doing shoots back to back this week – but we had a shoot reschedule due to sickness and BAM! We were able to fit Jason and Mishelle in much earlier than the night photography we had spoken about over the phone. YAY YAY YAY! They were such a great couple and so cute together. We really had a good time.

Love what you see? Please, oh please share the loveee…

Also, don’t forget to connect with me, send me a message, ask me questions, I love questions – well of photography, or just a friendly friend request:)

Photography Workshop | Florida Gulf Coast University Digital Photography Class

My mentor and I set up a photography workshop at an off-campus location (Koreshan Historic State Park) to give the students a hands-on approach to photography. We had a fantastic model, great cloud coverage, and had tons of great fun! I have a few things I would do differently for the next workshop (don’t wear a sweater dress and boots thinking it will be cold -_-) and watch those fire ants! All in all I was and will always be worried that the students didn’t learn anything, but they were all fantastic and we really rocked the workshop! For mostly beginner photographers, we had a wildcard lesson thrown into the mix of the workshop: I brought in flashes. Shocker for some, but many were thrilled and excited (!). I wanted to give the students a taste of something different. Heck, I even learned something today, the students wanted to use my umbrella modifier as a prop, and it became a light modifier to the sun! Definitely made me think of my lighting in totally different ways. Very excited that my mentor invited me back again next semester for yet another fun-filled adventure with those who love photography! 2012 is starting to look like a great year for us!

Check out the photos I took at the workshop with the students, especially the umbrella prop/sun modifier – ingenious those students.
