Heather is one of the most creative, stylish, and hard working individuals I know. She totally rocks AND has a super talented musically inclined boyfriend, Chris Moll of the Lovers Key and The PostMarks. Two of the sweetest, genuine and supportive people I know. I am so blessed to call these two friends.

SERIOUS talent from Chris and Maco. Think the Noisettes – whom I’m totally obsessed with. When I heard the mastered version of “Who’s the One You Love” I was HOOKED. SERIOUSLY HOOKED. Buckingham Family Session | Cody, Tiffany & Haley

Cody and Tiffany are the funniest couple you’ll ever meet, and their daughter, Haley, is a HOOT! We met last year as wedding vendors (both of us are wedding photographers) and have become fast friends ever since!

Cody and Tiff chose this amazing location… I didn’t even know where we were going! It’s actually one of their favorite places and the sunset was just BEAU-TI-FUL!

Hales received her first lollipop for great cooperation and it was so much fun capturing the joy and love of this little family.

Long time client and friend, wedding DJ extraordinaire, Radio talkshow host, all around awesome person, Gentry Thomas and I did a promo shoot to update his marketing images. We always have a good time and we love pushing boundaries – in both of our work. To give me a challenge and to offer up a new location to play around in, we chose my alma mater, Florida Gulf Coast University. With the Eagles just winning their second game against USDS and making NCAA history (being the first 15 seed team to make it into the Sweet Sixteen) the campus was surprisingly quiet. We took advantage of the quiet to make some killer shots.

Cody and Tiffany are a wonderfully sweet and fun couple with a cute as a button daughter, Haley. They are also some of my favorite wedding photography friends that I met just last year. Cody and Tiffany are Hunter Ryan Photo! AND…… They JUST celebrated their 7 year wedding anniversary. So to celebrate, I teamed up with them, Kehrin at Jet Set Wed, Janea of JA Make-up Artistry, Hilary at Tie the Knot Couture, Debra at DM Paper Designs, Ben at Spirits of Bacchus, the ladies at Isn’t She Lovely Florals, Lush bakery, and my other fun photographer friend, Nikki at Nikki MayDay Photography! (Matt over at YoDisMatt Photography and Design did part of the shoot for my promo video… shhhh!)

Film Noir “A Walk Downtown” | Hannah & Travis

My muse (the nagging voice inside my head) would not let me be until I did a shoot inspired by the film noir movies in the 1940′s-1950′s. I have been plagued for MONTHS. And really? It’s one of my favorite genres of film. Maybe I’m a bit dark, but I love drama and emotion, and to be able to portray that in my work is something I strive for everyday. I think it took months because I haven’t found the right couple. Each styled session I shoot is tailored specifically to the individual couples. So when I met Hannah while teaching a modeling workshop for FGCU students at Koreshan State Park, and found out she had a long-time boyfriend, Travis – it just clicked. Travis and Hannah have been together since sophomore year in high school and met at a church camping retreat. Aww!

A Walk Downtown is about two people who met one night, spend all evening together, and depart – never to see each other again. I hope you enjoy!

Wedding Formals Checklist | A Helping Hand for You and Your Wedding Photographer

Hello! How is your wedding planning going? I hope it’s going great and you aren’t stressing too much! To help reduce as much worry as possible for you and your photographer on the wedding day, here is something you can work together with and make it your own.

One of the most frustrating and often stressful times for couples, their families and photographers during the wedding day is the small window of opportunity for formals (family and wedding party mostly). These can be done beautiful and with very minimal stress if done as efficiently as possible.

As I hate for my own couples and their families to even stress slightly on one of the happiest days of their lives, I am fully invested in making sure their day is picture perfect. One motto I live by is: prepare for the worst, and hope for the best. As a wedding professional, it is my job to prepare my clients on what to expect from me and what to expect on their wedding day. We are a team, if you have a planner or coordinator, they are part of our team too. Our end goal is to have fun, make memories, and create gorgeous photos.

I always send to my clients along with their contract, this check list and a fill in the blank timeline to help them plan their wedding day accordingly. I meet with them or their planner 4-6 weeks before their wedding date and finalize everything. I then study the time line and checklist before the wedding.

The checklist is organized in a way that reduces as much movement of the bride as possible. She is usually in her wedding gown and it usually takes more time to re-arrange her gown each time she is moved than if we just move people in around her. You’re “photo usher” can be your planner, a close family friend, or photographer’s assistant (this you’ll have to discuss with your photographer first.)

I was inspired to create this list when a similar list was handed to me two weeks before one of my weddings when I first started photography. I loved how quickly we were able to organize and take all the formal photos with gorgeous light and still managed to get more couple portraits with the bride and groom. The best part? No one was forgotten!

I encourage you all to use this list and help yourself and your photographer out. The less stress in the world the happier everyone will be!

Quick Photo Tip: When shooting anyone next to the bride and her dress, ask the other person to “tuck” their foot under the dress. This will prevent any accidental stains or dirty spots on the hem if someone steps on it.

Fort Myers Beach – Bowditch Beach | Family Session

Had a WONDERFUL time spending it with The Daileys, Gibsons, and Seiferts at Bowditch Beach. All of them converging to Fort Myers to spend a weekend together from all over the US, and one from Canada!

So full of fun and laughter, the four boys were such a hoot and total hams for the camera. Kerry and I felt so blessed to be able to spend a gorgeous Florida sunset with this family. Thank you for trusting us with your portraits!

R&B Music Promo Shoot | Split Image

I had such an amazing time photographing Split Image, an up-and-coming R&B duo (twins), TJ and Tyron, at one of my favorite stomping grounds – “World Famous” Cigar Bar at Gulf Coast Town Center. My photography is highly influenced by music, so I was most excited when I was able to collaborate with Split Image on this set.

These two were so easy to work with and they were just so much fun! It’s such a pleasure to meet such nice and ambitious people. I can’t wait to do more work with these men again!
