Naples Underwater Photography Session | Heather + Stephanie

Last month, I had my first taste of shooting underwater, it was with a few friends who came from out of town and out of state and we never really left the pool or beach. The first few frames I ever shot were with a iPhone5 in a LifeProof case. When I saw the photos in post, I just had to keep doing it! I did a ton of research (naturally!), but I was not ready to pay upwards of 2k for a housing I was afraid would sit on the shelf, so I looked into an underwater point and shoot camera. Now, a lot of people bash point and shoots because they aren’t “real cameras”, but the best camera is always the one you have with you (not my quote – I think Chase Jarvis said this). I felt limited when I would go out with friends and didn’t want to lug around a huge DSLR, so it just felt right that I should buy a point and shoot that fit in my dress pocket. I did A LOT of research, watched a ton of YouTube videos on the different types of underwater or “rugged” or “Anna Proof” cameras and found the one to be most beneficial to myself was the Nikon AW110. There are some limitations, but with limitations, my experience in photography really comes into play. Below, you will find a mixture of iPhonegraphy images underwater with another fellow photographer, Stephanie Lynn, and underwater images I shot recently with the lovely Heather.

Koreshan Historic State Park | Creme de la Crown

I have a wonderful friend who started making these gorgeous bohemian head pieces, bracelets and necklaces, all of semi-precious stones and precious metals not to long ago and it has become Creme De La Crown! When I saw these pieces I just about wanted ALL OF THEM. They are super cute and so versatile. We had a great time running through the fields of Koreshan State Park and dodging the rain AND bees! All in all we had a wonderful and the photos really show it.

I would definitely check out Creme de la Crown and take a look at some of her amazing designs. Otherwise… Enjoy!

Koreshan Historic State Park | Rock Gothic with Heather & Chris

Heather is one of the most creative, stylish, and hard working individuals I know. She totally rocks AND has a super talented musically inclined boyfriend, Chris Moll of the Lovers Key and The PostMarks. Two of the sweetest, genuine and supportive people I know. I am so blessed to call these two friends.

SERIOUS talent from Chris and Maco. Think the Noisettes – whom I’m totally obsessed with. When I heard the mastered version of “Who’s the One You Love” I was HOOKED. SERIOUSLY HOOKED. Film Noir “A Walk Downtown” | Hannah & Travis

My muse (the nagging voice inside my head) would not let me be until I did a shoot inspired by the film noir movies in the 1940’s-1950’s. I have been plagued for MONTHS. And really? It’s one of my favorite genres of film. Maybe I’m a bit dark, but I love drama and emotion, and to be able to portray that in my work is something I strive for everyday. I think it took months because I haven’t found the right couple. Each styled session I shoot is tailored specifically to the individual couples. So when I met Hannah while teaching a modeling workshop for FGCU students at Koreshan State Park, and found out she had a long-time boyfriend, Travis – it just clicked. Travis and Hannah have been together since sophomore year in high school and met at a church camping retreat. Aww!

A Walk Downtown is about two people who met one night, spend all evening together, and depart – never to see each other again. I hope you enjoy!

Fort Myers Beach – Bowditch Beach | Family Session

Had a WONDERFUL time spending it with The Daileys, Gibsons, and Seiferts at Bowditch Beach. All of them converging to Fort Myers to spend a weekend together from all over the US, and one from Canada!

So full of fun and laughter, the four boys were such a hoot and total hams for the camera. Kerry and I felt so blessed to be able to spend a gorgeous Florida sunset with this family. Thank you for trusting us with your portraits!

Downtown Fort Myers Night Shoot | Austyn

I met up with Austyn in Downtown Fort Myers, Florida to update her model portfolio. Shooting a pretty girl is easy, and I always love a challenge. So I asked her to come just after sunset – so we can shoot at night. I was joined by Matt Galbraith of Yodis Designs & Photography and my boyfriend/webmaster/assistant – Kerry.

Estero Carnival Family Mini Session | Gentry Thomas

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

After months of trying to schedule a good time to shoot with Gentry, we had one free weekend to do a quick family mini session for him. This is the first part of his two part promo/family shoot. Our next scheduled date for photos is December 1st – so stay tuned for those images!!

There was a carnival in Estero, Florida this past weekend and it seemed like a wonderful idea to do a mini session there, and what FUN! It was super awesome seeing his two children again this year, and they have grown! I’m excited to see them again next weekend.

Soooo… here we go as in a bit I’ll be off to play hostess to our families for our first Thanksgiving in our home.

I had such a great time at the carnival having fun with the kids. I hope you enjoyed these!

Naples Zoo Wild Weddings | Trendsetter Challenge

Received an e-mail from Courtney of Naples Zoo Wild Weddings, and Kehrin from Jet Set Wed about possibly doing another Wild Weddings shoot out. I did one last year and it was a lot of fun, but I was unsure if I was able to make it again this year. Lo and behold they asked and asked and finally I made arrangements. It was hot, but the setting was gorgeous and the models – newlyweds, Jennie and Anthony were troopers and TOTALLY in love. I had such a great time and really enjoyed myself. PLUS! the Challenge was a shoot out between a few other local photographers and myself so there was a month long judging and we’ll see who wins!
