Where do I BEGIN on Sagar and Roshni’s Indian wedding?! I met Sagar and Roshni through a photographer recommendation (Thanks Charmi!) and we hit it off really well! Every trip I came to NYC leading up to their wedding, we met up, hung out, and discussed every minute detail of their day. This was a big deal – both first of their families to be married, Sagar being the first and only son, Roshni, being the beloved youngest daughter. I have never experienced so much outpouring of love for two people as I have on this day in July.

My love for Indian weddings deepens each and every new wedding I shoot – from all the cultural meaning that goes into each ceremony leading up to the wedding day, all the little details have a deep rooted cultural meaning, and the pride, love and abundance of emotions just GETS ME EVERY TIME. I have not laugh cried as many times as I have at Indian weddings – and let me tell you they can PARTY.

Courtney + Charlie Get Married at La Playa Beach & Golf Resort

Friends, I can’t wait to tell you the story of Courtney and Charlie.

It was a family affair with lots of sentimental details and touches of love, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Nicole, Courtney’s ultra talented sister did all the styling, florals and most of the day coordination. She was a rockstar and lending her talents (She’s a killer wedding stylist out of L.A.) and sharing her love for her sister, really kept things relaxed for Courtney and Charlie. They had a really simple morning ceremony and brunch reception at LaPlaya Beach and Golf Resort. Of course, because it was a morning wedding and Charlie LOVES sunsets, we met up later in the day for just some portraits of them.

National Museum of Women in Art Wedding, Washington DC | Gabriella + Luke

Words cannot describe how much fun I have shooting with my “work husband” in DC. Mantas Kubilinskas (mantasphoto.com) and I work like a well-oiled machine, constantly inspiring each other to push our creatively boundaries for his clients, Gabriella and Luke. I can’t wait to be back in the Capitol in May and August this year. It’s going to be a wild and crazy wedding season for us, with lots of new things to happen.

As for Gabriella and Luke, college sweethearts, being together for 10 years, building up each other’s careers and continuing to support each other in life and love – that’s inspiring. Just like Gabriella said that long ago night in a parking lot after a college party: Those that pee together, stay together <3

Congratulations Gabriella + Luke! May you both enjoy a lovely life of happiness and excitement!

Fairfax and DC Elopement | Rihanna + Spencer

I had a lovely time in DC with fellow photographer Mantas Kubilinskas and loved shooting along side him on his sessions and weddings. I was able to meet with one of his clients, Rihanna and Spencer and we spent a lovely 2 hours chasing light and locations in the Alexandria/Fairfax area. Shooting with other photographers are great, not only did we each challenge each other creatively to give the best results for our clients, but there was ongoing sparks of inspiration and it only benefited our subjects. Fort Myers Courthouse Wedding | Jennah + Pedro

Jennah and Pedro have the cutest little family! We all met up on the last day in July, a Friday afternoon, surrounded by their closest family and friends to watch as they became husband and wife. You can totally feel the love Jennah and Pedro have for each other, and for their two children. I was honored to be one of the very small group of family members and friends to be asked to capture such a great moment in their lives! I hope you enjoy their images as much as I enjoyed capturing them!

Lovely Wedding Celebration at Buckingham Farms | Angela + Landon

Today’s installment of AWESOME is Landon and Angela. If anyone had any doubts at all whatsoever about long distance relationships need to just look at Angela and Landon to believe. Angela and I met at my first bridal show and we never really got to chat until after I started contacting those who left their information with me. I noticed that she had an 805 area code phone number and I asked if she was from Ventura County in California (where I lived before moving to FL). Lo and behold – we shared common stomping ground! Angela and I started hanging out (Us Californians need to stick together) and became fast friends. I soon started hearing all about Landon! They met when her family lived in Canada because of her father’s work, she kept in touch with him and kept their relationship strong through her university studies and Landon’s work schedule. They wed this past April and until Landon’s immigration papers go through, they are back to visiting each other once a month. I know it’s hard for them, but I’m excited to see that love trumps all obstacles.

Courtney from CocoLuna Events was a dream to work with, and her handiwork and editing skills really helped elevate Angela and Landon’s design for their wedding – incorporating family heirloom pieces into her wedding (Angela had her grandmother’s handkerchief tied to her wedding blooms and wore the earrings her mother and grandmother wore on their wedding day (a gift from her grandfather to her grandmother, I have never see raw diamonds those old before!)), infusing DIY touches (Angela made all the cookie platters while her mother and grandmother made the cookies (so cute!), Landon’s shot gun cases for the boutonnieres, Angela’s preference for parasols instead of bouquets for her bridesmaids, riding in and leaving on a clydesdale-drawn carriage, and choosing Buckingham Farms as their backdrop for their celebration (the antler chandelier and jack daniels barrels sold them!). I had such a great time with their family and friends and can’t wait for you to see all of the amazing details and moments from their day!

Destination Downtown Naples Beach Wedding | Sherise + Carmine

Sherise and Carmine’s low key, intimate destination Naples beach celebration was one of my favorites so far – not because the universe was totally loving us that day and gave us AMAZING light, a sky that was ON FIRE and kept the rain and thunderstorms at bay – but because I just totally LOVE Sherise and Carmine! I love, love, love it when a couple trusts me explicitly and let’s me take them to my favorite downtown Naples locations, and let my mind go wild with them. It also helped that my favorite assistant, Ben and I were able to share in the moment, cheer loudly for them when they were pronounced “Husband and Wife” and spend time with them and their families. I can’t wait to see their love and marriage blossom and grow into something extraordinary! Congratulations Sherise and Carmine!

La Playa Beach Wedding Teaser | Kim + Arie Part One

I absolutely ADORE Kim + Arie. I mean I adore each and everyone of my clients, but Kim and Arie are doing their wedding celebration THEIR way and I totally love and respect that. This is the sneak peek of an emotionally amazing, intimate ceremony, with a celebration spanning over three days and two major celebrations. Tomorrow I join them, their family, and their closest and dearest friends at their wedding reception – where I know the party will GET DOWN and we’re going to have a ton of fun.

Yellow Fields + Yellow Bridges | Sacramento Riverwalk Engagement Session with Anh + Cuong

I went back home to California last week to visit my sister and do a few things (Like host her baby shower and shoot her maternity photos) and had the greatest opportunity to photograph long-time high school sweethearts (We’re talking they’ve been together for almost 14 years! – 14 YEARS) Anh and Cuong for their upcoming wedding this December. This wedding has been a long time coming and I’m so fortunate to have had the chance to contribute to their day (I’m already booked for their wedding date, so no December trips back to California for this girl *sad face*). Anh and Cuong were pretty much up for ANYTHING I wanted. It was pure bliss. There were these amazing mustard fields by my sister’s home that I missed seeing as a child, so they indulged me by shortly stopping and trekking into them as we drove to our shoot location – Sacramento Riverwalk. I’m not a stranger to fading light and was SO EXCITED the light was disappearing fast into twilight when we arrived at Riverwalk. I can’t wait to see what they do with these images for their wedding and look forward to seeing them online. I hope you all enjoy these as much as we all had fun shooting them!

Lange Farms Wedding | Ashley + Cody

What a wedding! Cody and Kerry have been long-time college best friends and when Cody proposed to Ashley, it wasn’t a surprise when they requested me as their wedding photographer. I just couldn’t wait! Ashley is a crafting and Pinterest QUEEN. With her attention to detail and emphasis on her wedding photography, it was a fun and relaxed wedding. I’ve known Ashley and Cody since Kerry and I started dating back in 2010 and we were super excited to watch them vow to be each other’s love, life and support for the rest of their days.
